Karaiskaki’s Square Inclusive Playground

• Bus stop «G. MANTAS» towards Vouliagmenis Ave. (350 m. distance):

We get off the bus and turn left. We keep the outer edge of the pavement on our left. We go around the kiosk and continue. Once we find the ramp, we turn right and go down Kyprou Str., keeping the inner side of the pavement on our right and watching out for low-hanging branches. When the inner side of the pavement leads us to the right, we leave it behind and continue straight until we reach the ramp. From here, we cross Ionia Ave. at the pedestrian lights, pressing the button on the metal pole to activate the signal. We cross the 1^st lane (traffic comes from the left) and reach the pedestrian island. We cross the 2^nd lane (traffic from the right) and reach a triangular pedestrian island. This is where tactile paving begins, with good colour contrast. We follow it. At the 1^st ramp we find we turn right and cross the small side street. On the opposite side, we find the tactile path again. Here there is the 1^st junction (options: straight and right), we go straight. We are now on El. Venizelou Str., with traffic on our left. We follow the tactile paving for some distance; Karaïskaki Square stretches out to our right. At the 2^nd junction (options: straight and right), we turn right. We arrive at 5 steps and descend. There is no tactile paving beyond this point so we continue straight and descend 3 more steps. We move diagonally to the left and locate the wooden fence of the playground. We keep the fence to our left and follow it along until the entrance.

We get off the bus and turn left. We keep the outer edge of the pavement on our left. Soon we reach a ramp. From here, we cross Kyprou Street, which has two lanes and traffic lights. On the opposite side, we find a ramp, turn left, and cross Dodekanisou Street, also a two-lane road with lights. Once we find the next ramp, we continue straight and go down Kyprou Street, keeping the inner side of the pavement on our right and watching out for low-hanging branches. When the inner side of the pavement leads us to the right, we leave it behind and continue straight until we reach the ramp.
